How To Install Oscommerce on Your Own Web Server

Oscommerce is a lightweight complete online store solution. It is supported by 9,125 free add-ons. This article supported you step by step install osCommerce on your web hosting.

Server Requirement

  1. PHP Compatibility : PHP v4+ (v5+ recommended)
  2. MySQL Compatibility : MySQL v3+ (v5+ recommended)
  3. Disk Space: 10 GB or more is better

Step by Step Install osCommerce

Step 1. osCommerce download and save your computer.

This is the second link for Oscommerce download.

Step 2. Open your server cPanel or Direct Admin Panel. Upload zip file.

Step 3. Extract the zip file and enter the osCommerce folder. Then enter the catalog folder and move all file public_html directory.

Step 4. Open a new tab in your browser. Write your domain name in the browser URL section and press enter.

Step 5. Oscommerce installation window appears. Please note server capabilities all green tick. Click start a new installation.

Step 6. Database setup window appears. Create a new MySql database. Write the username, password and database name in this panel. Then click the Continue button.

Step 7. Open cPanel or Direct admin panel. Click MySql Management.

Step 8. Click Create New Database.

Step 9. Write the database name. Same as database username. Write this password very strong minimum of 12 letters. Then click the create database button. Your database created successfully.

Step 10. Same input database username, database name, and password in those fields. Please following the number. Then click Continue.

Step 11. This window shows you when you are installing osCommerce. Then click Continue.

Step 12. This is the online store settings page.
